My husband has been suffering from dementia for the past five years. He hasn't recognised me for the past two years, so to me, he's already gone. I don't mean that in a cruel way, but the man I married died two years ago when he stopped knowing who I am and was placed into a care home. I'd love a new companion to enjoy spending time with.
